our tour guide
Senior Curator of contemporary art, craft, and design at the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD)
This focus will be on the jewelry drawers that contain a cross section of modern and contemporary studio art jewelry that is in our collection. These works were recently featured in the Museum's exhibition, Jewelry Stories: Highlights from the Collection 1947-2019. The drawers are in the same gallery as OUT of the Jewelry Box, but she would focus on the drawer contents.
Barbara Paris Gifford is senior curator of contemporary art, craft, and design at the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) in New York City. She oversees MAD’s renowned jewelry collection and has helped organize over 20 exhibitions, including Counter Couture: Handmade Fashion in an American Counterculture, The World of Anna Sui, and Jewelry Stories: Highlights from the Collection 1947–Now, for which she edited a comprehensive catalog.
