Barbara Raleigh’s broad range of experience in both fashion/costume and fine jewelry spans many years. Her start in the jewelry world making enamel art, led to her entering the world of fashion and costume jewelry at Trifari. While there she learned the total business, not only in overseeing the design and model making departments, but working with all the other important divisions: manufacturing, sourcing, sales, PR and advertising, merchandising, and packaging. Years working at Trifari enabled her to spot voids in the industry leading her to create International Design Source, a Trend Forecasting and Design Consulting service.
On bi-annual trips to major fashion centers in Europe, Barbara photographs and reports on newsworthy trends in Fashion, Art, Architecture, Home Décor, Merchandising and Display, Retail, Innovative Materials and Technologies, Ecological concerns, Societal and Political news, etc.…and relates them to Jewelry Design. The presentations cover Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer.
Her domestic and international clients include designers, merchandisers, manufacturers…companies searching for knowledge of the upcoming trends and directions.
This 1-hour presentation is created to inspire all involved in the creation of a jewelry collection. The variety of her photos shows how trends are depicted in numerous categories…and of course, in jewelry. Stimulating the designers’ imagination is the key objective! Seeing jewelry design from all angles and being inspired from everything and anything - not just another piece of jewelry - is the focus of her trend report. Barbara’s report will give you new perspectives on discovering the up-and-coming.
