“Pearls, the Saga Continues….the 20th century and beyond.”

Reaching the zenith of Natural Pearls, the 20th century witnessed the rise and fall of natural pearls, the introduction of cultured pearls, and how it entered the consciousness of the fashion world. This beautiful organic gem went from million-dollar price tags to everyday accessibility.

The desire for pearls never changed but the price and aesthetics did. We will track the progress of pearls in the 20th century, both in terms of classic looks and innovative designs, along with valuation tips and treatments…..and some glimpses into the 21st century as well. To whet the appetite, a taste of pearl “wannabees” will be touched upon, such as the Conch and Melo “pearls.”

Join us for an informative and inspired evening on Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 7-8 pm with Michael Coan.
