Event will be held at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Room C816

Be prepared to be inundated with pearls – all types. This is a hands on workshop where we will explore the majesty and mystery of pearls firsthand.

Short of x-rays, we will use equipment (most of it rather elementary) to examine pearls, evaluate quality and how to determine cultured and natural from their very good look-a-likes. We will also examine pearls in jewelry and how to maintain them.

And each participant will be allowed to bring one item of pearl jewelry to be examined, and evaluated. A lot to pack in 3 hours
